Abstract

This study employed a descriptive research method to investigate the study habits of grade six learners in Patikul East District, Division of Sulu, during the 2024-2025 school year. A purposive sampling technique was utilized, selecting 100 participants from four elementary schools, ensuring representation of both genders. Data collection involved a survey questionnaire adapted from Pelayo (2015), which assessed demographic information and study habits across four key variables: Time Management, Home Environment, School Environment, and Personal Factors. The analysis revealed that most participants were aged 11 to 12, with a significant portion of parents having elementary-level education and low monthly incomes. All respondents acknowledged the influence of time management, home, and school environments on their study habits. However, no significant differences were found in study habits based on gender, age, parental education, or income. Notably, a strong positive correlation was identified between time management and home environment, as well as a moderate correlation with school environment. The findings suggest that supportive environments are crucial for fostering effective study habits, ultimately enhancing academic performance. Recommendations include the establishment of dedicated study spaces, flexible study schedules, and encouragement of collaborative learning among peers. Future research should examine additional factors that may impact study habits among learners.
