Sa gitna ng COVID-19 Pandemic, mahalaga ang Flexible Learning Option sa pagpapatuloy ng pagtuturo-pagkatuto, ngunit hindi nito awtomatikong natitiyak ang mataas na kahusayan sa pagbasa. Nilalayon ng artikulong ito na ilarawan ang implementasyon ng Flexible Learning Option sa Grade 9 ng Zamboanga City High School-Main batay sa komprehensyon, student engagement, at internet/Wi-Fi connectivity, gayundin ang lebel ng kahusayan sa pagbasa at pagkakaiba at kaugnayan ng mga baryabol. Gumamit ng deskriptibong disenyo at datos mula sa 36 na mag-aaral. Naitala ang mean na 4.03 sa komprehensyon, 3.57 sa student engagement, at 3.41 sa connectivity. Sa pagbasa, 22.2% ay mahusay, 47.2% ay katamtaman, at 30.6% ay mahina. Walang makabuluhang pagkakaiba batay sa kasarian, unang wika, at pangkat etniko, at walang makabuluhang kaugnayan sa pagitan ng flexible learning at kahusayan sa pagbasa.
